In the season of Passover and Easter, religious leaders came together on Thursday March 28th to wash the feet of immigrant workers to honor their dignity and work. The Catholic church observes the washing of the feet on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week to commemorate Jesus washing the feet of his disciples at the last supper. Likewise, religious leaders came together to lift and recognize the sacrifice and contributions of immigrants and to demand an end to deportations and detentions.  This action was organized by ACUDIR members: Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice of the East Bay with the Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights-CLUE.
