Join us this Tuesday, April 9th at 10:30am at the Alameda County Board of Supervisors Budget Hearing where community members will speak out against Alameda County’s collaboration with ICE through S-Comm.

Budget Hearing

April 9th at 10:30am

1221 Oak Street #512, Oakland CA, 94612

Community members with advocates and organizers will offer testimony on the devastating impacts of detention & deportation and urge Alameda County to adopt a new policy that ends the enforcement of ICE holds.

In a meeting with community members, advocates, faith leaders and attorneys Sheriff Ahern said the county is reimbursed $750,000 per year for responding to ICE holds. We have yet to receive any data showing that these numbers are accurate but what we do know is that we do not want Alameda county in the business of detaining immigrants and facilitating the separation of families for money.
